I am looking forward to a great school year as the Library Media Specialist for East Valley Middle School.
My name is Marne Bender and I live with my husband (who is a middle school teacher at EVMS), our son Clark, and our yellow lab named Blu in East Helena. I am originally from Deer Lodge, MT. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana in 2009. I completed my master's degree program in Educational Technology from Boise State University. I completed my Library Media endorsement from Montana State University in 2017.
I am embarking on my 13th year in education for the 2018-2019 school year. I taught six years of fourth grade, and one year of Title I, before moving on to middle school library where I currently reside. I run three student groups at EVMS which include Book Crew, Gamenation, and EVMS Esports- Rocket League. I am also the head coach/manager for EHHS Vigilante Esports.
When I'm not teaching, you might find me racing to keep up with my active kiddos, enjoying the outdoors, or watching cooking shows. I also love watching sports. My favorite sports to watch are football and basketball, and of course I'm a huge GRIZ and PACKERS fan!
